RULES FOR RESPONSIBLE INTERNET USE
These rules help us to be fair to others and keep everyone safe.
Using the computers:
- I will only access my own files and will not access other people’s files;
- If bring in DVDs or CDs from outside school I will give them to my teacher to check and get permission before using them.
Using the Internet:
- I will ask permission before using the Internet;
- I will report any unpleasant material that I find to my teacher and turn off my screen immediately;
- I understand that the school may check my computer files and monitor my Internet history;
- I will not complete and send forms over the Internet without permission from my teacher;
- I will not give out personal details over the Internet;
- I will not use Internet chat or chatrooms.
Using e-mail:
- I will only e-mail people that my teacher has approved;
- I will ask permission before opening an e-mail or an e-mail attachment sent by someone that I don’t know;
- I understand that the messages that I send or receive may be read by others;
- I will report any unpleasant messages that I receive immediately;
- I will never use e-mail to arrange to meet someone outside school hours.
I understand that if I deliberately break these rules, I may not be allowed to use the Internet or the school computers.
