Getting Involved

At Childeric we welcome parents/carers being involved in the life of the school; this could be through joining our Childeric Working Committee, by becoming a Parent Governor or accompanying your child’s class on school trips.

The Childeric Working Committee (CWC) has been running since 2008 and is designed to allow parents/carers to become more involved in the life of the school.  The CWC come together to help raise funds for extra activities for the pupils at our school.  Throughout the year they organise cake sales, the Christmas Fair, Valentine’s Disco, International Evening, the Summer Fair and many more events.
We are always looking for new members and welcome anyone with new ideas.  We would like as many parents/carers as possible to join the CWC or to participate in some way.  Donating time is a valuable gift, especially these days when there are so many demands on us.  Even a few hours a month when required would be helpful.
If you are interested in becoming more actively involved with the CWC then please speak to a member of staff in the school office or see Valarie Williams.

Parent Governors
A governing body is made up of members from school staff, local community, local education and parents.
School governors are responsible for the strategic management of the school, overseeing the school aims, values and ethos, promoting high standards of educational attainment and setting targets for pupil achievement.
If you think you may be interested in becoming a parent governor when a vacancy arises or would like to find out further information, please leave your details at the school office and the Chair of Governors will be asked to contact you.

Accompanying school trips
We always encourage parents/carers to accompany school trips.  By going on trips, it gives you the opportunity to share special school experiences with your child.  For some trips we need many parents/carers to accompany so please ensure you have completed an 'accompanying school trips' form to indicate that you are able to volunteer your time.  Sometimes it is necessary to cancel a trip if we do not have enough parental support.
