Reception Summer Term

Our topic is ‘Water’.  We discuss where we find water in the home and at school, and find out about rivers, ponds and the sea. The children learn about the water-cycle, look at ice and observe the changes as it melts.  They investigate which materials float or sink.  We visit the Horniman Museum and learn about the different creatures that live there.  The children make bubble pictures and underwater pictures using different media.  We look after class tadpoles and caterpillars, watching them grow into frogs and butterflies.
